Looking back at the last three weeks that I’ve spent here, I am filled with shock, joy, gratitude, and sadness.
My experience with Elemental was unlike anything I could have imagined. It was enriching and challenging due to the complexities of the culture and the research project I was working on. I felt like I was an active contributor to our team, and never felt like I was “just” a volunteer there. All of my academic work and extracurricular activities paid off in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage in critical social issues in a third-world country. I am extremely grateful for the Dean Rusk Travel grant for funding this experience to understand educational practices, the digital divide, and the culture of innovation in La Paz.
Below is a collection of photos that didn’t fit in other blog posts. I will miss all my friends from Elemental, and the beautiful city of La Paz.
